Wayne Howe auditions original song “Get Away” for Grammy Award winning artist John Paul White in Nashville.

Nashville, August 21 — Wayne Howe attended a Nashville Songwriters Camp and was able to perform his original songs, including an audition of his original song “Get Away” for Grammy Winning Artist John Paul White in Nashville, Tennessee. John Paul White is a former member of the duo “Civil Wars” but restarted his career as a solo artist in 2016. White is co-owner of Single Lock Records, a label he founded in his old home time of Florence, Alabama.

Hosted by country music legend Rodney Crowell, the four-day long camp featured other opportunities for Howe to share many of his 28 originals with other song writers and artists. The days were taken up in workshops and the evenings with open mic performances. The campers were mentored by a powerhouse group of successful songwriters, including White, Crowell, Joe Henry, Gretchen Peters, Bill Payne and Beth Nielsen Chapman. Producer Peter Asher (Peter & Gordon) treated the campers to his star studded histories of working with the stars from the Beatles to Elton John and more.
